Vehicle insurance covers employees working for the insurer.

The new draft amendments to motor insurance, proposed by the Central Bank, revealed that the insurance covers the vehicle of an employee working for the insured, provided that there is a contract for the driver who is under his sponsorship. It also covers drivers who are related to the insured, namely the father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, and sister.

It should be noted that electronic monitoring of violations for not having valid insurance on a vehicle once every 15 days came into effect today, and automatic monitoring of insurance violations, as stipulated in the traffic regulations since their issuance, will be applied in all cities and provinces of the Kingdom. It has also been automated to be independent, like other violations, without being linked to any other violation.

The General Traffic Department had set Sunday, October 1, as the date for monitoring violations of not having valid insurance for vehicles, noting that the value of the violation ranges between 100 and 150 riyals.

The General Traffic Department warned drivers, both citizens and residents, of the need to comply with traffic regulations and instructions and to insure their vehicles to protect their rights in the event of traffic accidents.
